BAHA, the Ministry of Agriculture and OIRSA met on May 30 to discuss and finalize initiatives that will be implemented in 2019 to safeguard agricultural health and food safety for Belize and the region. The discussion was focused on regional emerging threats such as African Swine Fever, Trogoderma granarium and Fusarium oxysporum Tropical Race 4. The meeting also addressed the need for continued collaboration, the role and responsibilities of each agency and the need to create awareness of these existing threats. Follow up activities will occur in the coming months.
