What We Do
FOOD SECURITY
Contribute to food security by protecting the health of our productive sector from devastating animal diseases and plant pests. We also regulate imports to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food.
FOOD SAFETY
Ensures compliance with Sanitary and Phytosanitary certifications for agricultural products and food commodities.
TRADE FACILITATION
Manage and mitigate biosecurity risks in agricultural trade to provide an appropriate level of protection to human and agricultural health and access to export markets.
COLLABORATION
BAHA partners with international, regional and local institutions and stakeholders through technical cooperation agreements, specialized trainings and exchange programmes to safeguard agricultural health and food safety.
SURVEILLANCE and DIAGNOSTICS
Identify and mitigate potential risks to protect human, animal and plant health, animal welfare and the environment. Includes pest and disease surveillance.
CERTIFICATION and INSPECTION
Ensures compliance with Sanitary and Phytosanitary requirements for agricultural products and food commodities.
TRAINING and EDUCATION
Equip stakeholders and farmers with the knowledge and skills to implement best practices in their operations.
